THE BALANESCU QUARTET: EAST MEETS EAST
Olin suotta lukkiutunut siihen ajatukseen, etteivät Balanescun jousiversiot YMO:n biiseistä ole yhtä luontevia kuin vastaavat Kraftwerkin hiteistä. Oikeastihan YMO muuntuu jousikvartetille paljon paremmin, etenkin kun Alexander Balanescu on lisäsäveltänyt biisejä - ytimekäs poppibiisi Behind the Mask on kasvanut peräti 11-minuuttiseksi. Ne Kraftwerk-vedot ovat vähän kulmikkaita.
Sitä mielipidettäni en kuitenkaan muuta, että Señor Coconut ei onnistunut YMO:n materiaalin kanssa ollenkaan, mutta hänen Kraftwerk-levynsä on maailman paras huumorilevy, koska se toimii omana itsenään, vaikkei alkuperäisiä esityksiä edes tuntisi, jolloin ei välttämättä edes hoksaa, että kyse on huumorimusiikista..
