Feel free to be, perform, interact and exchange as you feel most comfortable with. Please show consideration and compassion towards others. Do not touch anyone without permission or assume anything based on anyone’s appearance. Communication is golden, always ask first and agree on things before going for it. Any kind of harassment or discrimination will not be tolerated in this space.

If you shoot photos or videos on the event please ask the people who are visible or recognizable if it is ok for them to publish them on social media or anywhere else. We will have a MYÖS photographer at the event who will act on this same principle.

OPEN DECKS
Got a USB full of extraordinary tunes? Want to play them for us on proper DJ equipment and sound system? This is the time and place!

The decks will be equipped with CDJ’s and a mixer provided with assistance on how to operate them, so no demand for former experience. One slot is 30 minutes and it’s possible to share it with a friend.

Join the open decks by sending an email by 30.7. to myoscollective(at)gmail.com with a very short motivational letter on why you feel like you need this space for performing & information on your preferred style/s of music and whether you have any previous experience of djing (experience not needed!).

MYÖS is a Helsinki based DIY collective, party platform and co-care network for genre-fluid electronic music DJs, producers, organizers, party lovers and allies of currently underrepresented actors in the Helsinki club scene, and anyone in favor of a safer space to party in.

MYÖS on helsinkiläinen DIY-kollektiivi, tapahtuma-alusta ja verkosto elektronisen musiikin kentällä aliedustetuille toimijoille, DJlle, tuottajille, järjestäjille, yleisölle ja liittolaisille paikallisessa klubiskenessä, sekä kaikille jotka haluavat toimia ja viihtyä turvallisemman tilan periaatteita kunnioittaen.

We want to encourage and support emerging artists and producers to perform and get to know each other. We want to increase diversity, inclusivity and respectful behaviour in the local party scene to make it more welcoming and safer for all of us. We want the freedom to perform, dress and be as one wishes without having to deal with unwanted attention or harassment. We want to experiment with collective ways of organising events where everyone can shine at what they feel good with – each one teach one and for us by us.

Haluamme kannustaa ja tukea nousevia artisteja sekä tuottajia esiintymään ja tutustumaan toisiinsa. Haluamme lisätä monimuotoisuutta, inklusiivisuutta, saavutettavuutta ja kunnioitavaa käytöstä klubitoiminnassa, ja pyrkiä kohti vastaanottavaisempaa ja turvallisempaa toimintaympäristöä. Haluamme vapauden esiintyä, pukeutua ja olla sellaisia kuin haluamme joutumatta ei-toivotun huomion tai häirinnän kohteeksi. Haluamme kokeilla erilaisia tapoja järjestää tapahtumia, joissa jokainen voi loistaa siinä missä he tuntevat olevansa hyviä – toinen toisiamme opettaen ja meiltä meille -periaatteella.
