Defence February is all about new talent. The stage is set for two young up-and-coming Helsinki-based dj/producers Yagura and Trey. These guys know the genre inside out and aren't afraid of spinning golden oldies, latest gems and their own productions. The night also features the dj-talent JNJ.

Trey is also known as MC Cypha so you might catch him spitting a rhyme or two during the night. Breaks, bass and vibes guaranteed.





TREY (Ivah Sound, HJM)

Trey's been actively collecting vinyl from 2009 and djing in Finland since 2011. He quickly hooked up with a Helsinki-based sound system / dj collective called Ivah Soundz and started to do regular tuesdays at Iso Roba 10.

In 2012 Trey joined Helsinki Jungle Mafia ranks and is a regular there. His style leans heavily to the old-school vibes and he prefers to play Jungle, Oldschool and Jump Up influenced Drum & Bass tunes.

As well as spinning records, Trey does mcing under MC Cypha moniker. He has mc'd for many domestic and foreign artists like Mr. Joseph, Savage Rehab, Radical Guru, BTK, Dope Ammo, Dodge & Fuski, Muffler, Physics and many more.





YAGURA (Lightless Recordings, Chillax Tracks)

Yagura, aka. Samu Rahkila, is a Finnish Drum & Bass producer born in 1993 living near Helsinki. He has been working on various electronic music genres since he was 14 years old, and has since then focused on breakbeat-orientated music.

Open-minded enjoyment of all music has pushed Yagura onto a path to both produce and dj all styles of Drum & Bass; although his oldschool and jungle tracks are what have received the greatest amount of attention from both Finnish and international junglists, he has recently experimented with more modern Drum & Bass sounds in the forms of liquid, neurofunk and jump-up.

Being "the new kid on the block" means he is still developing his style and sound but regardless of this Yagura is steadily rising up the ranks in the Drum & Bass scene, with his tunes being released on record labels and played on FM radio and at club events.





JNJ

Roughly 10 years ago JNJ got his first set of turntables and a mixer. A lot of practice has earned him a lot of gigs.

Nowadays his favorite past time is producing mixtapes and buying vinyl records. In 2011 he placed second in the HJM - New Talentz mix competition and played a gig at Venue's main stage in succession. JNJ's style is to play harder, darker and techier Drum & Bass.
