Who else would be the best season closing DJ for FED-parties in Kuusisaari than Finland's number one deejay, Orkidea? Orkidea will play slightly longer set than he usually does, we expect nothing else than 'hands in the air' feelings on the dancefloor. The main hall will be warmed up by FED's reliable resident deejays Soppa & Redjack, Max Dee and Gateway - quality progressive and trancetracks will certainly do the trick. This time the alternative floor consist from acid/techno live-act Healium from Jyväskylä, electro/techno deejay Naks from Jyväskylä, Muhos native breaks-maestro Sero and Oulu's own italo-specialist Mauno Kalevi. Two great floors with the price of one, we welcome you all to witness the Kuusisaari season closer @ Kuusisaari!

DJ Orkidea has been one of Finland's and Scandinavia's leading trance and progressive DJs for well over ten years. His background lies in illegal squat parties and big Finnish raves of the 90's. He has played around Finland in all major clubs and events. Recently also Cream, Renaissance, Gatecrasher, Global Underground and Prodigy have used Orkidea on their tours to Finland. Today he holds residencies and runs his own Unity, Jack and Sun club nights and the Renaissance events in Helsinki.

During the last few years Orkidea's foreign gigs have been rapidly growing and he has played at such legendary venues as Tresor and WMF (Berlin, Germany), Pacha (Ibiza, Spain), Panama (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Club CODE (Tokyo, Japan), Nature One Festival (Frankfurt, Germany), Viva (Toronto, Canada), Roskilde Festival (Denmark), Fokused (Stockholm, Sweden) and Tunnel (St.Petersburg, Russia) as well as some more exotic venues in Cairo, Macedonia and Murmansk.

Orkidea's recording career started with Unity released in 1999 by London based Steelfish Records. Unity was immediately in Top 10 of such legendary DJs as Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, John Digweed, Dave Seaman & DJ Tiesto and was also included on Renaissance and Gatecrasher compilations. Both Sasha and Paul Oakenfold used Unity as the opening track for their BBC1 Essential Mixes on NYE 1999 and at Homelands 2000.

During 2005 Orkidea was busy releasing great productions. His remix of Way Out West 'Killa' was without doubt one of his best productions so far. He also released a full chillout album called 'Music Speaks In Thousand Languages', a mix-cd called 'A Place Called Happiness' and several notable remixes for example a remix of Tilt - 'Twelve' and Sasha vs. Underworld 'Xpanding Girl'. Orkidea took almost complete break off dj-gigs during spring 2006 meanwhile he concentrated on working in studio. Surely we can expect some tasty productions and remixes before end of the year. Most recently he has joined forces with Andy Moor and their co-production is likely to be released through Ava records soon.

The acid-techno band called Healium consists of two members, Jouni Raninen and Tomi Kesäniemi. Coming straight from the middle-Finland's beating heart, Jyväskylä, the band has made numerous performances all around Finland, from small cellars and club-parties to large mass gatherings like Koneisto. Healium has also made a few recordings, latest of them for Djax Up-beats (Hol).

Since the beginning, the focus of the band has been on playing the music
live, close to the audience. All tracks in the liveset are composed and played based on loops and short riffs, so the music is always intuitively
morphing itself to have a fresh vibe to it. Tweeking 303-basslines are of
course the basis of the sound, but groove-laden drumloops laced with
soulful samples guarantee an interesting and always entertaining acid-bath, sure to shake some booty on the dancefloor and make the purists in the bar nod their heads on and on.

SERO BIO:



This little big man from Jyväskylä will 'hit the breaks' after Healium's live-set. Sero has a stunning ability to impress with his selection and mixing every time he is behind the decks, we are sure that this time makes no difference. Sero has now gained fame with his own productions, his track called 'Megamaid' was released through X0X Records flipped with a remix from Bass Junkie. We all expect more quality productions from him in the future.

NAKS BIO:



Over a decade of enthusiasm for electronic music has led him behind the decks spinning rocking electro sh*t spiced up with techno and acid sounds. Naks is running Sewer Leak record label with friends and organizing Club Sievä - an electro club in Jyväskylä.

MAUNO KALEVI BIO:



Mauno Kalevi is one of the founding members of Tisko ry. that organized electronic music parties in Northern Finland during the later half of 1990's. At these times Mauno Kalevi's own style slowly progressed towards electro. He played his first DJ-gig in year 1998 at Playroom-party held in Haapavesi. During recent years italodisco has found it's place in Mauno's heart, so his current productions and record selections vary around these two genres.

Vaikka tiedä nyt miten rahat riittää suurempaan party-partyyn, mutta ei soisi missata, kun tullut kirottua lukuisasti viime mahdollisuutta Orkidean keikkaan, joka jäi iän takia väliin.

Yrmm heh, mitä lie olen houreillut *vink*. Toki sitä pitää olla tulossa, ja tukea hommaa jo senkin takia jotta jatkossa nähtäisiin samanlaisia tapahtumia ja näyttää että kiinnostuneita riittää.

Kesän päätösbileet kuuskassa. Tänne on pakko tulla, Orkidea i <3 you!

Kuusisaari on kyllä bileille loistopaikka. Sopivan syrjässä Oulun keskustasta, muttei liian kaukana. FED RY tekee kyllä hyvää työtä järjestäessään bileitä!! Orkidean lisäksi tsekkaamisen artisti on myös monsieur Mauno Kalevi, jolta kuullaan varmasti illan "kipeimmät" rallit!!

IT'S GO-GO TIME!!

Myöhään lähdin, myöhään saavuin. Matka osasi mennä sightseeing kiertelyksi ensinnäkin. Onneks kyllä saavuin paikan päälle ennen 0100. Mutta mitäpä tuosta sanoisi: Kunto riitti niin hyvin, että yhdellä paussilla ja tankkauksella selvisi Orkidean setistä. Eturivissä ollessa kyllä riitti tunnelmaa etenkin loppupuolella. Moonlight Party, viimeisin vissiin Beautiful, tai ehkä ehkäpä Killa, joka oli kyllä niin mahtava livenä kuin olen osannut vain odottaa

Oih, sitä lopussa toivoi josko sitä vielä jatkuisi lisää pitkälle aamuun. Pakko myöntää, että vastaanotto oli erinomainen ja itselle oli mahtava ilta, ja pitkän odotuksen jälkeen ei pettänyt odotuksia.
