[iso]PROGRESSION - LCS PROGRESSION 'PROMO MIX'[/iso]
"Ladies & Gents...
This February 26th, Liquid Crystal Sounds provide winters prime party to visit. LCS 'PROGRESSION' will be celebrating DJ PROGRESSION's 20 YEARS OF DJ'ing alongside two of Finlands prime DJ talents!
From Progressions first set of Technics 1210's in his bedroom during early 1990, to organising underground parties, to spinning in clubs across UK, Finland and the Baltics... He's a DJ who has seen and experienced the highs of the UK Hardcore / Rave scene, witnessed the birth of super clubbing brands Ministry Of Sound, Cream, Gatecrasher, Fabric, Slinky... and danced amongst 1000's to almost every superstar DJ name!
With a hands-on exposure to the growth of electronic music, it's no wonder this DJ really has a genuine electronic music education.
The following one hour Promo Mix was actually compiled and mixed a few months back for the "LCS - TEMPTATION" event held in Tampere. 50 promo CD's were handed out at the event. Now a little time has passed, i've decided to put it online for everyone to enjoy.
The emphasis of this mix is based on my more downtempo yet tough sounding tracks. The tunes in this compilation are a selection of tunes that ive spun in clubs during late 2008 / early 2009.
Now newly christened the 'PROGRESSION' promo mix, the intention is to promote the style of music I tend to play when spinning the first set of a club night. Deep rolling basslines, slower builds / breakdowns and techy atmospheric synths and strings.
Sit back, download and enjoy. This is your official warmup to the event where we'll be taking you to another level with a PROGRESSION of old skool and upfront anthems."
Cheers. Progression :)

I absolutely agree!!! I had to dig 'Hopero' out of my collection as it is such a magnificent tune. So well produced. Deep, rolling and pumpin'! Works every time... A flawless track by Laamanen!
downloading :)
Good work my friend! Great tunes
Nice mix mate! Really peacefull and calm but still rollin' and energetic mix. The second half was a bit better in my opinion but the third track 'Warrior (Tiger Stripes remix)' is absolutely one of the best progressive house tunes I've ever heard! Nice work again!
See you @ klubi on February 26 then!

Cheers for the feedback!
Glad you enjoyed another 'Progression' installment. I must say that most of the tracks I buy (and have bought over the previous 2yrs or so) have been almost all progressive house (and some tech / deep house). I still keep my senses sharp with the progressive trance. However, for my tastes there simply hasn't been enough 'quality' prog-trance being released. Not as much as there used to be anyway. Proggier house does it every time for me!
The Tiger Stripes re-work of Andy Caldwell's "Warrior" is magic. I love Lisa Shaw's voice in this. It fits the part. I can't remember how many times i've played the tune out, but each and every time... an instant positive response!
- Progression :)
Very nice mix, works every time!!! Still got the cd
Brilliant set <3 Melodic, deep, techy, progressive house, but not too minimalistic. Just the way I like it :) Absolutely perfect. Thank you.
Mark Ankh - Minute Of Decay (Timmy & Tommy Remix) <- OMFG!

I have to agree that I am not a fan of really minimal tracks either! They bore me :) Nothing really happens! However, tunes with melody, rolling prog-builders and techy influences give so much more! Glad you liked the mix and thanks for taking the time to listen and comment. It is valued

Timmy & Tommy were heavily promoted by Markus Schulz. He hammered many of their productions on his weekly GDJB. A great duo who keep coming out with musical gems like this! I certainly rate their style.
nice mix...roll on the 26th for some fisting from the DJ box!
Cool mix with a few classics classics to boot!!

Cheers Marky,
I remember when you were hammering Silicon Soul's "Call of The Wild" back in autumn / winter 2008... especially at the LCS 'Establishment' event with Jay Lumen. Just couldn't get enough of it! Fantastic production from the Glaswegian duo!
