DIVE (Bel)
Daft, Out Of Line
http://www.facebook.com/TheKlinikDiveSonarAbsoluteBodyControl
A true living legend and a pioneer in his field, Dive is an artist that BMB has been chasing for the previous years. This time it all luckily worked out. Dirk Ivens started his career as a musician over 35 years ago in a punk band called Slaughterhouse. Only a few years later the electro band Absolute Body Control took off and after that- the legendary project The Klinik. There have been quite a few more bands and groups Ivens has or is taking part of. Dive is the body and soul of Dirk Ivens, for he shares Dive with no one. The power, the monotonous and grabbing rhythm that a stage filled with one man can offer is unreal. No bells and whistles: two strobes, a megaphone, loads of smoke and a performer of whom every one of us dreams of having for a father.
IGORRR (Fra)
Ad Noiseam
http://www.facebook.com/IgorrrBarrroque
We are so glad that this year again the Ad Noiseam label is represented at BMB. Gautier Serre aka Igorrr is undeniably one of the strangest musical geniuses alive this day. Without a doubt he can be aligned with Aphex Twin, Mike Patton, Ihsahn, Amon Tobin and Devin Townsend. It’s not regular breakcore, it’s not monotonous noise or fooling around just for the sake of it. All the insane pieces of metal, classical music, drum’n’bass and IDM fall to place perfectly. Igorrr himself has called his music baroquecore. No arguing there. This is no Friday night on the dancefloor but the everyday life of split personalities. Bring your own shrooms.
AUTOGEN (Lat)
4iB, Sturm
http://www.sturmmandat.com/artists/autogen
Autogen is an artist to whom nothing is an excess. They create a cold mixture of post-industrial from tasteful IDM with warped electro and noise. The visual aspect is crucial in their music, and there - nothing is taboo. Strange costumes and all imaginable bodily fluids, that are generated right before your eyes. Lately they returned from their exotic Asian tour and at the moment are working at a sequel to their first album “Mutagen” (4iB Records, Singapore). Kaspars (Rosewater, Narkose-X, Sturm Records, Nakts Maina Festival) and his fiancée Lāsma are accompanied at this BMB by Folki (Rosewater) on percussions.
FREAKANGEL (Est)
Alfa Matrix
http://www.facebook.com/FREAKANGELofficial
It’s safe to say that Freakangel is the best known and most active local dark-electro band in the international dark scene. In their few years of existence they’ve released two full albums under Alfa Matrix (Front 242, Leaether Strip) and the third one is on its way. They’ve performed at several international festivals, had their videos taken in with open arms via television and we can be sure to expect more from these young fellows. The danceable live performances sound just as an electro-industrial band should yet with their live drummer come off as an intense metal band. A sure-fire thing for those who enjoy the likes of Combichrist, Psyclon Nine and Aesthetic Perfection.
PROTECTORATE (Fin)
http://www.facebook.com/protectorateindustrial
The band is actually run by known faces from older Finnish bands. Protectorate was formed in 2004, but the project really took off seven years later. Since then they’ve released an EP oozing with old school electro-industrial called “Come Fall”. They sound like the second coming of Skinny Puppy, Portion Control and Front Line Assembly - depressive and dark. Dark electro that deserves its name.
MORGUE'S LAST CHOICE (Est)
Veritsus, Remixta
http://www.facebook.com/morgueslastchoice
This duo sounds so gruesome that even the prettiest of listeners will feel ugly inside. MLC calls itself a noise-funeral-doom-industrial-ambient collective: inspired by medical problems and mycology. We couldn’t agree more. If the legendary Cold Meat Industry record label would still be alive and kicking, MLC would surely be taken under their rotting wing. Heavy and submerging, the ideal band to end the festival, leaving you with unforgettably beautiful memories.
DARK NEXUS (Lat)
http://www.facebook.com/darknexusband
These young southern neighbours make a great example of what happens when black metal crosses with industrial music. Dark nexus is dark, evil and melodic. At the moment they are recording their first album that we can’t wait to hear! If you’re a pinhead who respects Suicide Commando, Agonoize and Hocico, this will fit you like a fist fits an eye.
BLOOD PAVILION (Est)
Talk Left-Handed
http://www.facebook.com/BloodPavilion
This is a rising project of Jarmo “Chopper” Nuutre, the multi instrumentalist. He is one of the few musicians in our scene who can be called a super being as he manages to take on just about everything and regard it with care and detail. Blood Pavilion is one of his recent projects that Chopper has dedicated himself to. A symbiosis of dark-hop, industrial, drum’n’bass, idm and who knows what else. Massive, hypnotic and yet ever changing. Give a listen to his new album “Opinion” and be assured by it yourself http://bloodpavilion.bandcamp.com
